Meet Our Team

  • Co-Owner | Registered Kinesiologist

    Alana holds a BSc in Kinesiology from St. Francis Xavier University and is currently advancing her expertise through the Human Factors and Ergonomics program at UC Berkeley. A member of both the Ontario Kinesiology Association and the Association of Canadian Ergonomists, she brings deep knowledge and a practical approach to every assessment.

    Since joining IPP in 2016, Alana has led ergonomic assessments for municipal, provincial, and federal clients, and co-owns the company alongside Katie Ryan since 2022.

    Special Focus:
    Alana is a passionate educator, known for delivering MSK prevention training for Hydro Ottawa, creating pandemic-era exercise videos, and leading ergonomic workshops across office and industrial settings.

  • Co-Owner | Registered Kinesiologist

    Katie holds a BSc (Human Kinetics) from the University of Ottawa and a Graduate Certificate in Advanced Ergonomics from Fanshawe College, London, Ontario. She is a Registered Kinesiologist and member in good standing of the Ontario Kinesiology Association (OKA) and the Association of Canadian Ergonomists (ACE). She is an Associate Ergonomist (AE) with the Canadian College for the Certification of Professional Ergonomists (CCCPE).

    Katie is a seasoned ergonomics consultant with a strong background in workplace health, injury prevention, and client-focused service delivery. Since joining IPP, she has played a key role in expanding services across Ontario and Québec, with a focus on practical, defensible solutions that support both employers and employees.

    Known for her strategic thinking and collaborative approach, Katie works closely with clients in government, healthcare, and the private sector to reduce injury risk and improve return-to-work outcomes.

  • Amanda brings over 15 years of experience in administration and customer service, with a passion for keeping operations running smoothly and efficiently. She joined Injury Prevention Plus in early 2023 as an Administrative Assistant and quickly advanced to the role of Office Manager.

    In her current role, Amanda supports the IPP team by streamlining day-to-day operations, coordinating client communications, and continuously taking on new challenges. Her proactive mindset, organizational strength, and dedication to service excellence make her an essential part of the team.

  • Registered Kinesiologist | Certified Pedorthist

    Andrea holds a BA in Kinesiology from the University of Western Ontario. She is a member in good standing with the Ontario Kinesiology Association, the Association of Canadian Ergonomists (ACE), and the College of Pedorthics of Canada.

    Since entering the ergonomics field in 2017, Andrea has provided office and industrial assessments for a range of private sector clients. She joined IPP in May 2023 and now delivers ergonomic services to provincial and federal government departments as well as private organizations across Ontario and Québec.

  • Tim holds a Bachelor of Science in Human Kinetics from the University of Guelph and a Graduate Certificate in Advanced Ergonomics from Fanshawe College. He is a member in good standing with the Association of Canadian Ergonomists (ACE).

    Tim joined Injury Prevention Plus in May 2024 as a Student Ergonomist and has since transitioned into the role of Associate Consultant. He now supports federal and private sector clients by delivering ergonomic assessments with a focus on quality, professionalism, and continuous learning.

  • Registered Kinesiologist

    Chris holds an Honours Bachelor of Human Kinetics with a specialization in Kinesiology from the University of Ottawa. He is a Registered Kinesiologist and an active member of both the Ontario Kinesiology Association (OKA) and the Association of Canadian Ergonomists (ACE).

    Chris joined Injury Prevention Plus in November 2024 and now conducts ergonomic assessments for federal government departments and private sector clients. His background includes high-performance training, acute injury care, bariatrics, and neurological rehabilitation—bringing a well-rounded perspective to his ergonomic consulting work.

  • Registered Occupational Therapist (COTO)

    Karen holds a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy from Queen’s University. She is an active member of the Ontario Society of Occupational Therapists (OSOT) and the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists (CAOT).

    Karen brings extensive experience in workplace ergonomics, injury prevention, and return-to-work planning. She conducts ergonomic assessments for both private sector clients and federal agencies, and has led the development and monitoring of modified work programs. Her expertise includes delivering individualized and group education sessions on office ergonomics and injury prevention, as well as conducting detailed Physical and Cognitive Demands Analyses.

    Karen also played a key role in developing and coordinating the Musculoskeletal Disorder prevention program at The Ottawa Hospital.
